News: Vā Moana book coming April 7th
We are proud to report that our book, ‘Vā Moana: Space and Relationality in Pacific Thought and Identity’ will be published on April 7th.
For May’s reading group, it was our privilege to host Shawn Wilson (Opaskwayak Cree), author of Research Is Ceremony: Indigenous Research Methods. A benefit to meeting online is that Shawn could join us from Bundjalung Country, while others were in Tongapōrutu, Tāmaki Makaurau, and elsewhere.
Our talanoa included Indigenist research paradigms, intentionality and ceremony in digital spaces, layered meaning and teachings in story, how common values among Indigenous peoples are uniquely expressed, and the politics of decolonisation.
